New Chandi Medha in 2017. The Silver City of Odisha is known for its rich culture & heritage. The city is famous for its Silver Filigree works. This millennium city in India is also famous for Durga Puja or Dussehra.
Probably the city hosts one of the biggest Durga Puja festivals in the country after Kolkata. Around 150 Puja mandaps participate in the festival with about 22 Silver Filigree Medha. The city is decorated like a princess with colorful light and crafts.
Every year the preparation begins before months. Almost every year the city witnesses a new Chandi Medha or Silver backdrop or tableau of Goddess Durga idol. This Year Dargha Bazar has installed a new Chandi Medha. The Puja mandap is located in between Buxibazar and Gouri Shankar Park.
