It’s our responsibility to keep our rich heritage clean and green. In the ancient days, the Boita or the boat used for Boita Bandana in Karthika Purnima were made of Banana tree but these days, boats made of plastic and other polluted materials like color paper, plastics, etc which pollute the water. Boita Bandana is a part of our Rich Culture, it is our responsibility to save our rich Heritage.
Large numbers of devotees visit the holy pond of Bindusagar to pay prayer and float boats as a part of the ritual. The use of non-biodegradable materials in the boats result in water pollution.
Like every year the YFS team conducted cleanness drive and remove the debris from the lake in order to make the pond free from polluted materials. According to a volunteer of YFS, 60 volunteers gathered at the place and executed the cleanness drive. The program was coordinated by Subrat Kumar Patnaik and Sangram Patra.
