Odia Film maker Subash Rout passes away

Renowned Odia filmmaker Subash Rout passed away died following a massive cardiac arrest. He was 62.
Subash Rout was undergoing treatment since a long time for cancer. He breathed his last in the wee hours at his residence at Chhatra Bazaar in Cuttack. He is best known for a series of hit movies including Santana, Suna Panjuri, Santan, Bhagya Hate Dori, Lakhmana Rekha and Singha Bahini. Most of his films were directed by late Hara Patnaik.
He was also a known face in Ollywood television industry and had also earned popularity for producing ‘Tulasi’ – a mega TV soap on ETV Odia. With his early departure, a big vacuum was created in Ollywood.
