Odisha based Scientist in world’s most influential researchers list

A scientist from Odisha named Sanjeeb Sahoo has been placed in the world’s most influential researchers list released by the firm Clarivate Analytics. 10 Indians are figured in the globe’s highly-cited researchers list that comprises over 4000 scientists and Mr.Sahoo is the only Odia.

He is a researcher in Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar, is known for the specialization for use of nanotechnology in cancer drug delivery, especially in cancer cure. Only 10 Indians found a place in the world’s 4,000 top scientists list.

USA is the top ranking country with the highest number of 2,639 Highly Cited Researchers (HCR) followed by the United Kingdom that boasts of 546 scientists and China (mainland) with 482. Total 4,058 researchers were figured as the Highly Cited in the 21 Essential Science Indicator (ESI) fields. Out of them, 194 researchers appear in two ESI fields, 24 researchers from North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East have topped in three fields.

Besides, Ashok Mittal, a researcher from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal and his wife Jyoti Mittal from the same institute; Avinash Kumar, a professor from IIT-Kanpur; Ashok Pandey from CSIR’s Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, JNU’s Dinesh Mohan, Rajeev Varshney from International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics, Hyderabad; Sakthivel Rathinaswamy from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore; Rajnish Kumar from IIT-Madras are named in the HCR list.  Jyoti Mittal is the only woman researcher from India in the list.
