COVID-19 Lockdown For Another 15 Days in Odisha

There is a rapid spread of Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) in the state so the Odisha government has decided to extend the lockdown period till 30 April 2020 i.e for another 15 days to fight against this pandemic.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said in a video message today “In view of the situation arising out of COVID-19, the state government today decided to extend the lockdown period till April 30,”.

CM also said that the state cabinet has also given a proposal to Centre for extension of 21-day nationwide lockdown till April 30 to tackle the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Expressing his concern over the spread of this pandemic Nobel Corona Virus in the state, he said that the government has decided to close all the schools till June 17.
As on date, the state has reported 42 COVID-19 positive cases including one death.
This is worth mentioning that Odisha was the first state in the country to have clamped lockdown since March 22. On March 21, the state government had announced a total lockdown in five districts and major towns in the state till March 30. Later, the Centre enforced the complete lockdown in the country for a period of 21 days.
