Here we bring to you the review of Biju Babu Movie –
There are certain films that resonate strongly and stays in people’s heart for a very long time. Odia film “Biju Babu” is certainly one of those films that have to viewed, noticed and to be taken seriously as it is NOT another run-of-the-mill story of a regular Odia feature film.
Film “Biju babu” has it’s heart in the right place and strikes the chord rightly with the audiences. It pays homage to the ideas, credo, and ideologies of our great hero Shri Biju Pattnaik. Ollywood Superstar Anubhav Mohanty plays Babu, a small-time thief who gets motivated and ultimately transforms himself under the radar of the ideologies of Shri Biju Patnaik. The film deals with a lot of real issues of today that includes spreading of fake news via social media, mob lynching and how that can benefit a certain fringe groups/political groups and disrupts the youth.
Technically the movie is at par excellence. Cinematography and camera work is brilliant, Crisp editing and no unnecessary filler scenes/songs that could add to the length of the film. Anubhav Mohanty is scintillating in the film, the scenes where he toggles from a thief to a patriot are simply brilliant and effortless. Comedian Pragyan khatua gives a comic relief and aptly cast. Chittaranjan Tripathy is an asset to our Industry, he is brilliant in the film and I hope our film makers should really tap his talent in more films to come. Supriya Nayak did a good job as well. Ashrumochan Mohanty as Biju Pattnaik is terrific, a special mention to the prosthetic make up artist, in fact this is the first Odia film where the makers have used Prosthetic makeup and the output is a very striking uncanny resemblance. All the songs are placed well in the film and have been well picturized.
The climax of the film really stands out, set looks humongous and larger than life. It was a delight to hear “Bande Utkal Janani” composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and sung by the veteran Asha Bhonsle. The entire theatre packed with crowd gave a standing ovation in the climax with Bande Utkal Janani playing and
it was delightful with goosebumps all over! Films like “Biju Babu” restores my losing faith from Odia films that we have and we can create good content Cinema and please note, this movie does not support any propaganda. A huge thank you to the makers specially Padmashri Nila Madhav Panda for such a brave effort.
