Plastic waste-filled up by the devotees gathered for Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand. The Char Dham is a set of four world famous pilgrimage sites in India. It is believed that visiting these sites helps achieve moksha (salvation).

The four Dham’s are Badrinath, Dwarka, Jagannath Dham Puri and Rameswaram. It is believed that every Hindu should visit the Chardhams during one’s lifetime.

But in the state of Uttarakhand there are four sacred Dham including Badrinath dham. The Chardham’s of Uttarakhand are Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath & Badrinath.

The Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand is one of the holy yatra of Hindus and people not only from India but also across the globe come here to join this holy journey.

This year the Uttarakhand’s Chardham Yatra has already begun and more than eight lakh tourists have joined this yatra.

During this yatra, pictures of plastic garbage’s covering the holy place has been going rounds across the social media. Those who had visited this holy place have made God’s own place into a dumping yard.

The intellectual group of people came for this yatra has filled the entire place with such a horrific solid plastic wastage.

This made the environmental scientist and nature activists worry about the holy Dham of Kedarnath. The bad effects of such amount of pollution which may be the cause of natural disasters in future.

The case is not only with the Kedarnath Dham but also in most of the major tourist destinations & temples across India. So being an Indian its our responsibility to keep of heritage free from garbage and keep it clean for the future generations.
