Gokarnika temple at the bank of River Brahmani
Jajpur was previously known as Jajnyapura and was the former capital of the Kalinga kingdom. The district is the prominent place for worship of the Goddess Shakti Biraja peetha, the holy temple of Goddess Biraja is a famous shrine. There are many other holy sites including Sweta Baraha, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu as the white boar.
The Gokarnika temple is located in Jarka of Jajpur. The holy shrine is located at a distance of about 72 KMs from the capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, and about 40Kms from the main town of Jajpur. The temple is located in the bank of river Brahmani. Lord Shiva in the name of Gokarnika is been worshiped in the temple.

1. The temple is opened for the disciples at 5 AM.
2. The temple is closed from 1 PM to 3 PM.
