16-day Durga Puja at Samaleswari Temple from 6 October 2023: Sodasha (16 days) Durga Puja rituals at Maa Samaleswari Temple in Sambalpur are scheduled to commence on October 06, 2023. The lighting of Manasika Deepa (Holy earthen lamps offered to appease the Goddess for the fulfillment of devotees’ wishes) will also begin on October 06.
The authorities of Maa Samaleswari Temple have released the following schedule for this year’s Durga Puja festivities, dedicated to Maa Samaleswari, the presiding deity of Sambalpur, Odisha:
“Pua Jiuntia Osha,” a special ritual, will commence at the temple on October 06, 2023.
On the eve of Mahalaya, October 14, devotees will adorn the Goddess in Dhabalmukhi Besha (White face get-up).
Maha Saptami and Mahashtami Puja will be held on October 20 and 21, respectively.
Similarly, Maha Navami and Maha Dashami Puja are scheduled for October 22 and 23, respectively.
