Bhubaneswar- These parks to be re-opened today after Cyclone Fani

In the 9th day after huge destruction by the Cyclone Fani, about 10 parks will be opened from today for the public here in the city.
There are 57 parks under Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) out of which 10 are to be re-open today for public. The ten in the list includes Indira Gandhi Park or IG Park, Biju Patnaik Park, Buddha Jayanti Park, Mahatma Gandhi Park, Kharavela Park, Kelucharan Mohapatra Park, Madhusudan Park, Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Park, K-8 Kalinga Nagar Park, Shyamprasad Mukherjee Park. These parks will be functional from today i.e 12 May 2019.
As per news, the restoration work in these parks is almost complete or in last stage, therefore the BDA authorities decided to open those for the visitors.
A senior BDA official said – “The employees were working on war footing level at Biju Patnaik Park in the past two days. The debris has been cleared from the park. The BDA has engaged 10 JCBs and 200 staff for restoration of the parks that have been destroyed by the Cyclone FANI.
There are 120 parks in Bhubaneswar, out of which 57 are being maintained by the BDA and 63 by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
