Tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Veer Surendra Sai: The state celebrated the birth anniversary of two of its greatest sons today. The 119th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and 207th birth anniversary of legendary freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai was celebrated across the state.

Jankinath Bhawan at Cuttack , the birth place of Netaji which is now a museum witnessed a huge footfall.People from various walks of life came to witness the life history of the legendary leader.The museum was decorated for the special occasion.

The galleries , the letters of Netaji and the garden were the attraction of the visitors.The photograph of Netaji’s spiritual guru was installed at the Spiritual gallery of the museum.Also, books written by Netaji and articles used by him were also being displayed at a gallery along with his other belongings.

On the occasion, the chief minister inaugurated an album comprising of the Indian National Army (INA) freedom fighters from Odisha.In the capital city , a six-day exhibition on life and works of Netaji was inaugurated at the Lalit Kala Akademi regional centre at Unit 3 in Kharavel Nagar area on his birth anniversary.

With Netaji , today is also the birth anniversary of the legendary freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai.Eminent citizens of Sambalpur garlanded Sai’s statue in the city.School students were seen marching in rallies and making rounds of the city.Several programmes were organised at the revolutionary freedom fighter’s birthplace at Khinda on the outskirts of the western Odisha town.
