Ollywood Singer Humane Sagar Passes Away at AIIMS Bhubaneswar
Popular Ollywood playback singer Humane Sagar, who had been receiving treatment in the Medical ICU of AIIMS Bhubaneswar due to multiple critical health issues, passed away on Monday. The noted singer, admired for his soulful voice and remarkable contribution to Odia music and cinema, had been battling severe liver failure along with multi-organ complications.
Critical Condition Leading Up to His Demise
Humane Sagar was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar on November 14 after a sudden deterioration in his health. Doctors placed him on advanced ventilator support as several organs — including his liver, kidneys, lungs, and brain — began to fail. Despite round-the-clock medical care and intensive monitoring, there was no improvement in his condition over the last three days.
His family, including his mother Sefali Suna, had earlier appealed for government assistance to help with rising treatment expenses. Both Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and former CM Naveen Patnaik had conveyed their prayers and concern. Unfortunately, despite all efforts, the singer passed away this evening.
A Voice That Shaped Modern Ollywood Music
Humane Sagar emerged as one of the most recognised playback voices in the Odia film industry. His emotional singing style and powerful delivery quickly made him a favourite among audiences across the state. Over more than a decade-long career, he recorded hundreds of film songs, albums, and devotional tracks, gaining an immense fan base.
His sudden passing has deeply shocked the Odia music community and his admirers. Tributes from fellow artists, fans, and political leaders have been pouring in since the news broke.
