Veteran Odia Actor Bijay Mohanty Passed Away At Private Hospital In Bhubaneswar
Ollywood superstar Bijay Mohanty is no more. He passed away at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar today. The veteran actor was 70 years old at the time of his death. He was rushed to the hospital this evening in critical condition. He has been getting treatment at Care Hospital for the past few days. Before he was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad last month for treatment. For the last 4/5 years, he has been living with his daughter in Hyderabad.
The Ollywood superstar was trained from the National School of Drama, Delhi, made his Odia film debut in the 19th century with the film ‘Nagafasha’. He has received the highest honor of the Odia film ‘Jaydev Award’ for his outstanding performance.
The veteran star Bijay Mohanty was the president of the Utkal College of Music. He directed a film called “Don’t Forget”. Prominent Bollywood actors Nasiruddin Shah, Rajabbar, and Om Puri were his classmates while studying at the National School of Drama.
He will always be remembered for his films like Nagafasha, Jaga Hatare Pagha (old), Pua Moro Kala Thakura, Jahaku rakhibe Ananta, Sahara Jaluchi, Suna Panjuri, Babu Parashuram, I Love You and many more.
