The sacred rituals of Maa Cuttack Chandi, the presiding deity of Cuttack, hold immense religious and cultural significance. Every year during Durga Puja and Navratri, devotees witness the divine transformation of the Goddess in 16 different forms, known as the “Shodasha Besa” or 16 Besas of Maa Chandi. Each Besa reflects a unique manifestation of Shakti, symbolizing strength, prosperity, wisdom, and protection.
In 2025, the celebrations of Maa Cuttack Chandi’s 16 Besa will begin on 14 September 2025 and continue till 3 October 2025, culminating in Bijaya Dashami with Mahisamardini Besa. Thousands of devotees from Odisha and across India are expected to visit the shrine to seek blessings.
