Odia film and album singing sensation Aseema Panda is one such heartthrob who won her way to the listener’s hearts via her versatility.
Aseema is known for her popular hit songs including recent released Sambalpuri album Sona Sona Sona re, Nadia Tela, Jigar Wala, and Haladi Gina. She has become one of the most popular singers of Ollywood with songs in more than 80 films to her credit in 14-15 years of her career. The versatile singer has lent her voice in a variety of genres. From Bhajan and Sambalpuri folk tunes to dance beats and romantic numbers, her songs are a hit from the very first day of its release.

The State Awardee singer has always wished to sing and make a career as a singer.
She was a student of the first grade when she performed for the first time in school.
Aseema learned Odissi music from Guru Prafulla Kumar Sahoo which I followed up with Hindustani music from Guru Artatrana Bhola.
She performed for the first time in a singing show on television when she was in the third grade.
Veteran music director and singer Manmath Mishra offered her an Odia Bhajan song which we recorded at Sarthak’s studio.
When she was doing intermediate, she got the offer to sing for the film ‘Bande Utkal Janani’. The music was composed by Sarat Nayak.
In an interview with MY CityLinks, the singer said that – “I know nothing except singing, so I can’t do anything else. Had I not been a singer, I might have been eating and sleeping at home, because I don’t like to work hard. Singing is my passion. The work I do for it gives me satisfaction.”
Aseema Panda admires Odia singers like Ira Mohanty, Trupti Das, Nirmala Mishra, and Gita Das and in Bollywood almost all the singers including legends like Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.
It will be very proud to read this being an Aseema Panda fan that, She wishes to recreate our Odia traditional music like Chhanda, Champu, and Odisha, as we are forgetting them with time. She also wanted to establish a music production house, where musicians would be free to work in their own way. The versatile singer wants to focus on making good songs, based upon the taste of Odia people.
She is all set for her acting debut in Mal Mahu Jiban Mati. In a recent interview, she confirmed that she is doing a guest appearance in the film.
When asked about acting in films, she said that she is getting offers to act in films from different production houses and directors. But I refuse because I am not interested in acting.
