The more than 1000 Years Old city Cuttack is also known as The Silver city of Odisha/Orissa.The city is famous for its Silver Filigree works.Around 16 Silver Filigree Medhas are there across the city with beautiful decorations are worshiped in respective Puja Pandals every year . But the Silver Filigree Medha of Badambadi Shankarpur,Cuttack is unqiue . The Puja committee is the 1st to decorate the idols of Lord Mahadev/Lord Shiva with Silver Ornaments . Before some of the Puja Mandaps where Jagat Janani Maa Durga is worshiped used to decorate the idols with golds & silver ornaments but Badambadi Shankarpur,Cuttack was the 1st to introduce the trend with Lord Shiva . The Puja Mandap is also Famous for its beautiful Gate/Torana .The Puja Mandap also conduct Melody programs & a huge Procession on the Bhasani Day.
