Pahandi Procession
The deities are carried from the sanctum to the Snana Mandap in a traditional procession called Pahandi Bije, accompanied by devotional music and chants. -
Snana (Holy Bath)
Priests pour 108 pots of aromatic and herbal water over the deities, believed to strengthen and sanctify them before the Rath Yatra. -
Hati Vesha Darshan
After bathing, the deities are dressed in Hati Vesha, symbolizing Ganesha-like form, drawing lakhs of devotees for darshan. -
Anasara Period Begins
Post Snana Yatra, the deities fall “ill” and go into seclusion for 15 days (Anasara). Devotees are not allowed to view them until the Netrotsav before Rath Yatra.
