Curtains came down on the annual Dussera festivities with idols of Goddess Durga taken out in colourful processions for immersion in the silver city of Odisha. Amidst heavy police arrangement, the immersion ceremony continued well whole night of saturday as high decibel DJ music, laser shows, traditional and folk dancers and revellers rocked the major thoroughfares of the City.The ‘bisarjan’ went off almost smoothly .60 platoons of police force were deployed for the immersion. As many as 13 CCTV cameras were also installed on the procession routes.

The Cuttack Municipal Corporation created two artificial ponds near Kathajodi , popularly known as “Devi gada ghat” for immersion.There were 3 Chandi Medha . While some medhas went to Raja Ghara (Chandini Chowk) , others made their procession to Devigada ghat via firing bazaar.Today the newly made Chandi Medha of Mangalabagh will visit the city and will head towards immersion .
